Traveling like crazy

Last week I got back from a trip to Dallas, TX, Palm Springs, CA, and Chicago, IL.

In Dallas I gave a speech to 800 school students at Liberty Christian School in Denton, TX. I have a friend who has FA that goes to that school so we got all her friends fired up for Ride Ataxia on March 24.

In Palm Springs I attempted a century ride (100mi in a day) despite being underprepared, with equipment that wasn’t my own, in the middle of a sand storm, it was ridiculous.  We (Me, My Dad, Uncle Steve, and Keith Magness) made it 92 miles before it got dark and the organizers pulled us off the course.  I have another century attempt coming up in June.

In Chicago we scouted the route for a potential Ride Ataxia event in the south western suburbs.  More on this later.

Yesterday I started an 11 day trip that will feature stops in California to promote the NorCal ride, Washington DC to participate in some Rare Disease Day activities, and Florida for the Catrike Rally and to shoot a PSA with the Tampa Bay Lightning.
